Concrete resurfacing in Perth
Refresh stained, worn or tired concrete driveways, patios and alfresco areas without the cost and mess of ripping them out.
When does resurfacing make sense?
If your concrete is structurally sound but looks old, stained, patchy or worn, resurfacing is often a cost-effective alternative to demolition and a new pour. It avoids jackhammering, skip bins and the downtime of replacing a slab. If the concrete has heaved, sunk or is breaking up, though, a new surface won't fix the underlying problem, and we'll tell you so and quote new concrete instead.
Benefits
- Less disruption — no demolition, and usually a quicker job than a replacement.
- Cleaner, more uniform look — covers stains, patch repairs and mismatched sections.
- Repairs included — cracks, chips and spalled areas are dealt with during preparation.
- Options — a resurfaced and sealed finish, a coating, or a premium upgrade such as resin bound aggregate or, undercover, epoxy.
Typical uses
Driveways, carports, front paths, patios, alfresco and entertaining areas, pool surrounds, and older garage and shed floors. It's a common choice when renovating or preparing a home for sale, where tired concrete can let down an otherwise good-looking property.
Our resurfacing process
- Inspect and quote. We check whether the slab is sound, look at cracks, drainage and any existing coatings, and recommend a suitable finish.
- Clean and grind. Old coatings, sealers, stains and surface wear are removed by diamond grinding with dust extraction (HEPA-filtered vacuums), or by pressure cleaning where appropriate.
- Repairs. Cracks, chips and spalled sections are filled and levelled. Joints are respected so the slab can still move.
- Resurface. The chosen resurfacing product or system is applied evenly across the area.
- Seal and handover. A sealer is applied where specified, and we explain cure times and simple care.
A note on cracks
All concrete cracks to some degree. Repairs make cracks far less visible and stop them collecting dirt, but resurfacing can't stop a slab from moving. Where cracks are active or structural, we'll point that out before any work starts so you can decide on the best option.

Frequently asked questions
Is resurfacing cheaper than replacing concrete?
In many cases, yes, because there is no demolition, disposal or new pour. The saving depends on the condition of the slab and the finish you choose; we can quote both options if you are unsure.
How long does concrete resurfacing last?
It depends on the product, the condition of the slab, how well it is prepared and how the area is used. Good preparation and regular care make the biggest difference.
Can you remove oil stains from my driveway?
Grinding removes much surface staining, and resurfacing covers what remains. Deep-set oil can sometimes need extra treatment so the new surface bonds properly.
Can I resurface a cracked driveway?
Usually, if the cracks are minor and the slab is not moving. Cracks are repaired first. Large, uneven or active cracks may mean replacement is the better choice.
Is there much dust?
We grind with dust extraction using HEPA-filtered vacuums and protect surrounding areas, which keeps dust well down compared with dry grinding.
